Three D.I.Y Frozen Treats for Dogs
Is there a heat wave coming? Here are three easy, healthy frozen treats that will help cool your pup down on those hot summer days.
For all of these recipes the only equipment you will need will be:
- An ice cube tray, popsicle mold or treat mold
- A bowl
1: Froyo-sicle
Ingredients
- plain, unsweetened yogurt
- berries of your choice (we chose frozen blueberries)
- 6″ Jr bully stick
- water
Instructions
- In a bowl combine yogurt, berries and water to make a fairly liquid consistency. The amounts will vary depending on the vessel you’ve chosen for your pupsicle.
- Once combined, evenly divide the mixture into you mold.
- Place the Jr. Bully Stick into the mixture. You may need to put a line of tape to help keep them center.
- Gently tap the molds on the countertop to remove any air bubbles
- Freeze at least 6 hours or overnight
2: Meat-sicle
Ingredients
- Canned food of your choice
- Water (if the canned food chosen is thick)
- 6″ Jr bully stick
Instructions
- In a bowl combine Canned food and water to a consistency that will be easy to pour into you mold or tray.
- Evenly divide mixture into mold.
- Place Jr Bully Stick in center. Depending on the thickness of your mixture the bully stick may be able to stay straight. If not, a line of tape will help it stand straight.
- Freeze for at least 6 hours to over night.
3: Bone broth pupsicle
Ingredients
- Bone Broth
- Water (if using a powdered broth)
- 6″ Jr bully stick
Instructions
- Pour bone broth into your mold
- Place Jr bully Stick in center. This time you will definitely need something to help hold the chew in place, you can use tape to do that.
- Freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight
The next day you will have some nutritious frozen treats that will taste delicious and help cool your pup down!
