Our Earth Friendly Alternatives to Pee Pads

Posted by | No Tags | Uncategorized

Pee pads are made with the same material as diapers, and it’s known that a diaper will take hundreds of years to decompose in landfill. Hundreds of years! Learning this, we stopped selling disposable pee pads and now carry two environmentally friendly options that are not only better for our planet and health (bye bye microplastics), but better for your wallet!

BARK POTTY

Bark Potty is an indoor potty option that is meant to mimic the outdoors in your home. This reusable potty tray lasts up to a month and replaces up to 60 pee pads!

Made with real bark, very similar to wood chips. Bark Potty contains natural smells that entice your pup to go, as well as a pheromone spray to make sure they know this is the potty spot. The tray is lined to stop liquids from seeping through the bottom and the bark is naturally antimicrobial. It’s great for our little neighbourhood, since we have wood chips covering many green spaces along the roads. Making potty training outdoors far easier than with traditional pee pads.

Bark Potty is an eco-friendly pee pad option that is ideal for indoors, balconies & porches, puppies, aging dogs and apartment living. The company uses responsibly sourced bark and are proud to be in the top 20 companies recognized by The Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC).

POOCH PAD

The Pooch Pad is a washable (up to 300+ washes) pee pad that can be used time and time again! Made with Microfine fibers and odour inhibiting technology, PoochPads are absorbent, odour-controlling pads ideal for puppies, older or incontinent dogs, and dogs that are “home-alone” throughout the work day. Can be used on floors, beds, cages, or any accident-prone area. Quickly absorbs liquid without soaking through.

These are just the options that we carry here at Pawse, but there are plenty of other environmentally friendly options out there. We recommend them all over the traditional disposable pee pads. Our pets cause enough waste, why add yet another wasteful product into our lives?
