The Power of a Rotational Diet
Rotational feeding came about as a whole-istic form of feeding our pets because their bodies (just like ours) are not meant to eat the same thing every day. Since there’s no such thing as a perfect pet food, it’s reasonable to assume every product is deficient or excessive in some way. Mainly because, like humans, every dog is different. So rotating between proteins, brands, types of foods (wet, freeze-dried, raw, dehydrated), treats, toppers and/or supplements can help ensure that any unhealthy consequences of one particular food can be minimized.
Not only will your pet be getting their nutrients from a variety of sources, but rotating your pet’s food is also very helpful for their gut health and in turn their overall health. More research is determining that the gut is at the center of our immune system. The more diverse our gut microbiome the healthier our bodies!
Feeding the bacteria in the gut the same thing day in and day out feeds a limited number of bacteria. Creating a weak gut microbiome. Whereas, feeding our guts an array of foods with natural pre and probiotics helps the good bacteria in our guts thrive! Supporting our immune system, helping to protect against pathogens, educating the immune system, and affects (indirectly or directly) the overall health of our pets!
Come into the store if you’re local and ask us about how you can start rotating your pet’s food now! Every pet is different. So doesn’t it makes sense that every diet should be as well?
